UN HUMAN RIGHTS CHIEF: SNOWDEN SHOULDN’T BE PROSECUTED

NSA leaker Edward Snowden should be shielded from prosecution because the global surveillance programs he exposed are responsible for numerous human rights abuses, UN Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay said yesterday. Pillay, a former International Criminal Court judge, repeatedly declined to call on President Obama to pardon Snowden, AFP reported, saying she didn’t want to short circuit a judicial proceeding.
